EAT: The Wolseley, London – This is real London. True London. A restaurant with superb service and an exquisite atmosphere. I love starting my day at The Wolseley.

EAT: Anahi, Paris (49 Rue Volta, Paris 75003 +33 1 48 87 88 24) – When in Paris, you must find Anahi, it’s tucked away on a quiet side street and is one of the best-kept secrets. Fantastic Argentinian food, it’s always busy and has a great atmosphere of locals and those in the know.

DRINK: Le Baron, Paris (6 Av Marceau, Paris 75003) – If I still have energy left, I try to head to Le Baron. It’s always a fun night out into early mornings. 

SHOP: Maxfields, LA (8825 Melrose Ave, LA) – I love Maxfields in LA, it’s in the heart of West Hollywood and I can always find some great investment pieces there. They have great accessories, selection of vintage pieces and luxury labels including Balmain, Rick Owens, Chanel.

EAT: Frank & Musso LA – I love old Hollywood and Frank&Musso is a landmark of Old Hollywood. Bette Davies, Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen have all dined and wined there, not much has changed since and I love going there. The atmosphere is alive with stories to tell and the service is flawless. 

STAY: Pelican Hill Resort, Newport Beach, CA. – If I need an escape from LA, I try to head to Pelican Hill Resort. Absolutely stunning resort by the coast, with private bungalows and the most gorgeous pool overlooking the Ocean.

SHOP: What Goes Around Comes Around, NYC. The best for vintage shopping. Anything from retro t-shirts to rails full of vintage YvesSaintLaurent and Hermes. 

STAY: Barvikha Hotel & Spa, Moscow. One of the most beautiful hotel to visit in the winter. Fireplaces, furs and snow. Stunning. And for shopping you just step outside to the luxury village – Tsum, Gucci, Louis Vuitton are all at your doorstep. The hotels private chauffeur driven Bentley also picks you up from the airport

EAT: Olde Hansa, Tallinn, Estonia. the most wonderful experience in Tallinn. based in a beautiful building from the middle Age, the restaurant is authentically medieval. As soon as you walk in, you are being greeted by hosts dressed in traditional gear and the whole place is only lit by candlelight. feast with the best medieval foods and beer and make sure to try out medieval favorites elk and deer.  

DRINK: Principe di Savoia, Milan – During Fashion Week, the bar is filled with everyone from A-Z of fashion industry. Great place for a drink, to pump into friends and to unwind after buy day at the shows. 

About Siim:
Estonian-born Siim Kohv is the Global Head of Communications for super-cool label Thomas Wylde.  His freelance public relations consultant has involved him working with other luxury labels including Newbark and Ralph & Russo. His career began at Wallpaper Magazine where he was hired as an 18-year-old and advanced to expert on corporate communications. Later, he did freelance PR work for Gucci, Kenzo, Emilio Pucci, Wonderland Magazine and Karla Otto.

About Philip Truelove:
Philip Truelove’s background is influenced by a multitude of countries: born in Sri Lanka, Philip was educated in Europe and, as well as working in both London and Paris, he has worked in three major US cities – Washington DC, Los Angeles and, of course, New York, with stints at world renowned properties including The Ritz London, The Ritz Paris, The Ritz Carlton in Washington DC, The Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, The Mercer Hotel New York, and currently as GM for The Greenwich Hotel New York. EAT: La Zucca, Venice, Italy
This hidden gem, on a campo far from the tourist route, serves up delicate vegetarian dishes.
I recommend: pumpkin flan, carrots in yogurt sauce.

EAT: Ariya Niwas, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India
This is a bustling restaurant near the train station. At lunchtime, gigantic fixed meals of rice and vegetable curries are served on banana leaves.
I recommend: peas uttapam, paper dosa (always a visual treat, stretching three feet from one side to the other), and the mango lassi.

EAT: Neptune Oyster Bar, Boston, Massachusetts, USA
This tiny restaurant in Boston’s North End serves up simple and unpretentious New England classics.
I recommend: the hot lobster roll in butter on a grilled brioche bun (the best lobster roll in the world), fried whole belly clams with a chunky tartar sauce.

EAT: Hui Lau Shan (Healthy Dessert Restaurant), Hong Kong, China
This ubiquitous chain specializes in mango desserts.
I recommend: mango sorbet with mango chunks and mango sauce (yes, that’s a real dish).

EAT: Beard Papa’s, all around the world
This Japanese chain serves cream-filled pastries made on the spot. When done well, the texture is perfect.
I recommend: plain cream puffs with vanilla cream.

EAT: In-n-Out Burger, California, USA
This chain is American fast food at its best.
I recommend: cheeseburger animal style (with grilled onions and thousand island dressing), vanilla milkshake.

EAT: Chick-fil-A, USA
Their chicken, juicy, sweet, and bursting with flavor, is astounding.
I recommend: chicken nuggets with honey mustard dipping sauce.

EAT: Sally’s Apizza, New Haven, Connecticut, USA
New Haven claims to be the birthplace of American pizza, and of the many wonderful pizzerias in town (Pepe’s, Modern, Bar), I think this is the best.
I recommend: a red pie (sauce only), pepperoni and hot cherry peppers.

EAT: Hunan Wildfire, Changsha, Hunan, China
This restaurant near the Xiang River serves its best dishes in bowls bearing a Hunanese quotation: He who eats spicy food can become a revolutionary.
I recommend: wild mountain pepper chicken, fish head noodles, sizzing Mongolian beef.

EAT: Cuz’s Uptown Barbeque, Pounding Mill, Virginia, USA
This is my parents’ restaurant, but I honestly think it’s the best restaurant in the world. The building is a folk-art masterpiece, and the food is out of this world.
I recommend: cheese egg rolls, deep fried lobster on rare roast beef, warm wild mushroom salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and broccoli and cheese beignets.

SHOP: In LA I love to shop at Robertson Boulevard especially Tory Burch’s stunning store (I love her shoes) and for great home wares and antiques I love to head to Abbot Kinney near Venice Beach.

SHOP: In Melbourne, I visit Tarlo & Graham for fantastic vintage finds and Market Imports in Armadale is an oldie but a goodie!! I obviously love shopping!!

STAY: In London I love to stay at The Haymarket Hotel which is owned and was designed by Kit Kemp.  

STAY: In Hawaii I love to stay at either the Halekulani or the old style Westin Moana Surfrider — both of which are beachside. 

STAY: In LA I love the Viceroy in Santa Monica which was designed by Kelly Wearstler or Shutters on the Beach — a bit of old style Hamptons in LA!!

VISIT: IFC Theater NY — I watch French films here. It reminds me of home.

EAT: Hutong in Tsim Tsa Tsui, Hong Kong. A beautiful Northern Chinese style restaurant with an amazing view of the harbour.  Watch out for their signature dish “Red Lantern” soft shell crabs with Sichuan Red Peppers – It looks pretty but it’s hot enough to blow your head off!

REVIVE: Happy Foot reflexology in Hong Kong. A refuge for tired feet exhausted by shopping! A few locations in Central close to all the best shops.

SHOP: Otto espresso stovetop espresso maker. For design lovers and coffee addicts, it looks spectacular and makes a delicious cup of coffee.

SHOP: Flight 001, an old favourite from New York has opened on Crown Street in Sydney. Everything you need for travelling in style.

REVIVE: Christian Dior Hydra Life Beauty Awakening Hydrating Mask is great for dry skin whilst travelling.  It’s an invisible, light mask ideal for using on the plane – no one will know you’re moisturising!

EAT: Kujin, a new Japanese restaurant in Elizabeth Bay, serves great food in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment. (Shop 1/ 41b Elizabeth Bay Rd, Elizabeth Bay NSW 2011 Tel (02) 9331 6077).

EAT/DRINK: LL Wine and Dine, Kings Cross. A cool little bar and restaurant that serves great cocktails and tasty Asian food designed to share with friends.

SHOP: Intermix started in New York as a designer boutique now with locations in 10 US states. Great for jeans, accessories and the latest trends.

SHOP: Becker Minty in Potts Point carries one of my favourite designers, Aurelio Costarella, as well as great jewellery and candles ideal for gifts.

STAY: Amanjiwo in Borobudur, Java, Indonesia is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. With views over the Buddhist temple (which you can access at dawn) and it is both peaceful and ultra luxurious.

About Anneliese Seubert:
Anneliese Seubert is an Australian model. She was born in Germany and moved to Cooma, Australia with her family at age 9 years. She was a finalist in the Dolly Covergirl competition, following which she began modelling when she was 15 years old. Seubert won the 1990 Ford Supermodel of the World contest at 17 receiving a $250,000 modelling contract with Ford Models. Following this she furthered her modelling, mainly in Paris.

She has enjoyed a successful career as an internationally sought after model, and has joined the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign as an ambassador.

EAT: Best Expat Australian Dining: M on the Bund, Shanghai.

EAT: Best night out in Brisbane: SO MANY but private dining at Enotecca is very glam and the food is great!

EAT: Best private dining experience: In Lien Yeomans House. You book her dining room for 10 people and she cooks amazing North Vietnamese food.

Our way of working is inseparable from our design ethos. We work in partnership through all passages of our process: planning, designing, finishing, traveling and selling. Personal connections are at the heart of our process and are essential to the way we work. We know our customers, our buyers and our storeowners. We find ourselves often designing for people we know and admire. Equally essential to our working method is our approach to fabric. We have then work in Australia on the actual production of garments. In practical terms, we design three ranges a year: Spring/Summer, Cruise and Autumn/Winter.

Our interests are specific and eclectic we design for people who are drawn to similar ways of thinking. We design for who are drawn to similar ways of thinking. We design for women who are quite possibly interested in art as much as fashion, who are interested in details and in visual plays. We want women to take our garments and make them their own. We don’t stand away from trends but we interpret these trends a little differently, a little idiosyncratically, a little privately based on our own interests. The sensuality of fabric against skin is important to us. We mainly use natural fibres, we are attentive to how the textures feel, how the seams are finished, how the fasteners might be touched. We believe in intimate attention to all aspects of the making process.

FFF LOVES … David’s iconic and whimsical illustrations of fashion, celebrity and life. A true genius!

STAY: Grand Hotel Nord-Pinus, Arles and Hotel Nord-Pinus, Tanger. My two favourite hotels, bar none. The owner, Anne Igou, has an artist’s eye. I could happily live in either.

SHOP: Most of the time, I look like Howard Hughes. When I need clothes for work I go to Dover St Market or Yohji Yamamoto in London. Both know the look I’m after: ‘Artist doing well’.

EAT: The Monkey Bar, New York. So hip it hurts. Go to people watch (Valentino, Graydon Carter, Fran Liebowitz, Gwyneth Paltrow the night I was there) Relish the Ed Sorel murals and the food’s not bad either.

VISIT: The V&A Museum, London. The greatest museum in the world.

DRINK: Bemelmans Bar, New York. The ultimate upscale bar in NY. More murals to relish, this time by Ludwig Bemelmans. The barman, Tommy, has been in residence for 50 years and will on occasion reminisce about the bar’s glittering past.

EAT: The Regency and The Melrose, two old school fish restaurants next door to each other on Brighton seafront. Delicious local fish, silver service, it’s like going back to the 1950’s in a good way.

SHOP: Astier de Villatte, Paris. Brilliant for note books, candles, all the things that you don’t want but do need.

DRINK: Bar 228, Paris. Take out a second mortgage and go for a perfect martini at this sexy, discreet and ultimately Parisian bar, reimagined recently by Phillipe Starck. A haunt of  of one time regular Salvador Dali.

EAT: Chani, Ithaca. A perfect blend of traditional Greek food and sublime views of the Ionian high above Vathi. A permanent holiday.

RELAX: At home. In my case that is the Sussex countryside, a long way from everything.

About David Downton:
David Downton was born in Kent, in the south of England in 1959. He studied at Canterbury ( Foundation year 1977- 1978) and Wolverhampton (BA hons illustration/graphics 1979-1981). In 1984 he moved to Brighton and began his illustration career. For the next 12 years - a period he describes as ‘wagging my tail when the phone rang’ - he worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from advertising and packaging to illustrating fiction, cook books and, occasionally, fashion.

In 1996, the Financial Times commissioned him to draw at the couture shows and since then David has become known principally as a fashion illustrator. His reports from the shows have been seen internationally, in the US, China, Australia and the Middle East, as well as in almost every leading UK broadsheet and supplement.

David’s commercial client list includes: Tiffany & Co, Bloomingdales, Barney’s, Harrods, Top Shop, Chanel, Dior, L’Oreal, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine and the V&A Museum. In 1998, he began working on a portfolio of portraits (from life) of some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Erin O’Connor, Paloma Picasso, Catherine Deneuve, Linda Evangelista, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Iman and Dita Von Teese.

In 2007, David launched Pourquoi Pas? the first ever journal of Fashion Illustration. He is a visiting Professor at London College of Fashion, and in April 2009 received an honory doctorate from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco.

EAT: Catalina in Sydney or North Bondi Italian for a long summer’s Sunday lunch.

EAT: Degustation at Ezard at the Adelphi, Melbourne. Oh my goodness!

SHOP: Cosmopolitan shoes Sydney – expensive but so much fun. It’s like shoe fairyland

VISIT: Huvafen-fushi Maldives. It’s everything the photos make it out to be and more. Complete and utter paradise

VISIT: Eichardts Queenstown. Stunning Queenstown and equally stunning accommodation. It’s magic all year round there.

STAY: Huka Lodge NZ – for the ultimate luxury lodge experience.

STAY: Hotel Therese in Paris – affordable, groovy and well located.

STAY: The IF Villa Sri Lanka. Incredible country and wonderful place to stay with a group of friends/family. A travel experience that’s a little left of centre but incredibly rewarding.

VISIT: Waiheke Island NZ – a fabulous weekend escape outside Auckland. Easy to get to and not far away. The vineyards are a must and Delamore lodge a favourite.

STAY: La Colombe d’Or in Cote d’Azur France – the ideal place to get lost in the South of France. The architecture, the history – it’s just so beautiful. I’d suggest you stay here and a long lunch in the restaurant is not to be missed.

I could go on and on – get out into the world and experience it for yourself – its such a wonderful and incredible world we live in … and there’s so much to see. In regards to shopping – there are just too many places to mention. I love being surprised on my travels and discovering local designers. Have fun!
