FFF Look of the Week 05/4/10

Charlize Theron in sky-high Givenchy, Stella McCartney heels and Jimmy Choo clutch.

FFF verdict:Ooh yum! You look just like a modern-day mermaid in this thigh-grazing frock; all shimmery and sea green. Love the coloured eye and loose textured hair. Most of all LOVE those shoes. Their fierceness offset your slippery gown to perfection.

Runners up…

Jennifer Hudson in blazer, taupe tee and charcoal skinny jeans with Givenchy booties.

FFF verdict: Chic and svelte, and not just because you have dropped the kgs. You have always known how to dress yourself: fit, finish and vertical lines. You are THE expert at dropping in a brave surprise like a sleek, chic too-short fringe. If I could just add a great neckpiece it would be the cherry on the cake. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!

Olivia Palmero in Julian J. Smith dress, Roberta Freymann neckpiece, Topshop jeweled jacket,  Christian Louboutin pumps and a Mulberry clutch.

FFF verdict: We were initally touch-and-go on this ensemble, then we were just GO! What an ecelctic and exciting combination. It is never easy to mix print and pattern but you clever little thing, you have found the key to effortless print combining. Orange is your common hue that links your jacket to your dress whilst your necklet marries the two together. Like a fabulous dessert, you look just delicious! Seconds please.

Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham and her fave Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps.

FFF verdict: Oh Victoria, I dread my mother seeing this. She is not a fan and told me I should stop wasting my time on you. But I can’t. How can I when you keep getting better and better? I adore your slinky trench dress with your devil-may-care flipped lapel (a new quirk for you and I like it!). The obi belt is fabulous and those pumps of yours divine. I can’t wait to see what you whip out next!

Kate Moss in white blazer, leather pants, boots and Ray-Ban Wayfarers.

FFF verdict:Kate the great, you’ve done it again. We all know you are the reigning Queen of Rock-Chic (musician boyfriend on your arm? Check!), but you still manage to flaunt it with panache. The super tight leather pants with silver zips, black tank and tailored yet unstructured white jacket hark back to an 80’s Chrissie Hynde, yet looks thoroughly modern and timeless. And of course, the ultimate classic in rock & roll eyewear – Ray-Ban Wayfarers – complete the picture. This look goes to eleven!

FFF Look of the Week 18/3/10

FFF Look of the Week…

Michele Obama in L’Wren Scott
FFF verdict:
Dear Mrs O, you are living proof that REAL women with REAL curves CAN work runway looks just as well as teeny tiny catwalk models. Whilst sleeveless is a no-brainer for you (your arms are your thing), that form-fitting, high-waisted skirt was a fashion (and figure) risk. You took it and pulled it off with aplomb. This is a fantastic and refreshingly unique look for a First Lady. 10 out of 10! Images via huffpost.com and style.com

Runners up…

Amanda Siegfried in Roland Mouret
FFF verdict: Vivid shades of blue always work superbly with a fair complexion. You are a tiny thing(thanks apparently to your diet of spinach and seeds) so a dress with lots of form is exactly what the Fashion doctor ordered to fill out and curve up that petite little frame. Love the very simple accessorising. That little wristful of black bracelets balance your black heels (with those horrible ankle straps) to perfection. Image via people.com

Portia de Rossi in Victoria Beckham
FFF verdict:
Like Amanda you look divine in blue. In fact, all of our comments for her also apply to you.  Except the side comment about ankle straps. You know exactly what shoe is going to extend those pins of yours. Gorgeous. Image via people.com

Gwyneth Paltrow in Ellie Saab
FFF Verdict: Ok Gwyneth, the Oscars were last week. Never mind, you may be late but you look great. It’s not the first time you have done plaits. They add an interesting quirk to such a regal and elegant dress. You are, quite simply, The Bomb! Image via people.com

Jennifer Aniston in Donna Karan
FFF verdict: YUM! What more to say? Jen have you been swimming in Maple Syrup again because you look good enough to eat. There is something undeniably divine about nude jersey, particularly when swathed neck-to-toe around a  super- toned, well roasted bod. Loving the gold bangles and nude structured clutch; the wrong acessories could have killed this outfit. Brad may be living it up in Italy with Ange, but this will have him choking on his Fettuccine. Sarah Jessica Parker in Halston Heritage dress, Marchesa tuxedo dress (worn as a jacket), Ferragamo pumps and metal mesh Halston Heritage bag.
FFF verdict: Since you took up your job at Halston, something has happened to you SJ. You are more pared-back, more simply styled and look effortlesslessly styled. Clever you translating your dress into a jacket; the proportions are spot-on. The metallic shoes and bag were a touch of brilliance. Any more black would have weighed you down and spoilt your easy-chic vibe. Carrie would be proud. Image via instyle.com

Lauren Conrad in 3.1 Philip Lim and Marc Jacobs satchel
FFF verdict:
Clean, modern and effortless. The little summer dress is hot, hot HOT right now. The nude shoe and yummy mustard satchel bag are right on trend. Loving the Gwyn-esque plait too. Love. Image via instyle.com
